Labor day golfing

Yesterday we went golfing with our friends here it was really fun. Carmen loves it, she props her foot up on the wheel and looks around. I bought her a little toothbrush and she sucks on it like a teething toy. We're excited today it is 85 degrees only because yesterday it was 100 degrees outside. If anybody ever visits Colorado and likes to golf and see pretty views, go to Marianna Butte in Loveland.  last week I was going to town and cleaning my whole house and getting rid of junk. I threw away a $500 check I realized and it already went to the dump. Shoot! So I wasn't sleeping good that night and the next morning I woke up and called the place that sent the check and told them my problem. His name was Norman and he lived in Dallas, Texas. He was laughing about what I did and said yeah send that money my way if you can afford to throw away money. They're sending a new one now so I'm glad I fixed that.

Parks and recreation

Our new hobby to fill in our days is to go to park. It is kind of entertaining. I walked at a park on the west side of town. I found a dog park and let Brutus play in it and another person came with an aussie they are used for herding sheep and cattle. They're really pretty dogs. That Australian shepherd was very protective of the ball and Brutus tried to take it from him, his name was Blaze. Blaze growled and yipped at our dog and Brutus jumped about 4 feet up and away, he was spooked. It looked funny like he was set off like a firework. Our dog is like a teenager sometimes he doesn't listen to me. He got out of the fence one day but he came right to the front door. So other days he is really nice and good. I just pretend I have two kids. I get some good practice in for if I have another kid. Sometimes I feel like I'm doing really good and then something happens and I'm like oops I am terrible at this. The neighbor said our dog thinks he's king shit because Brutus ...

Decorating

For the past week I've been painting our bedroom a deep green color and painting the trim boards white. Painting is a very long process. I am excited to finish it alteady. I'm just about done! I have some signs I really want to make for my bathroom. We chopped down our old fence so now I'm going to repurpose the wood and make signs. I have to have something to do to stay sane! I've never stayed home before it is way different then waking up every day and getting ready for work.  I am excited though because it has made me find different things to fill up the day. After my bedroom is finished I'm going to work on Carmens bedroom. She's going to have a purple room and white trim in it. Then I need to hang up her wall decor, flowers and a sign that says laugh. It is very fitting for her because now I can get her to laugh. The best thing is when she laughs in her sleep, it makes anybody feel happy to see a tiny bambino laughing. So the projects don't stop as ho...

Vietnamese dumplings

Yesterday I made vietnamese dumplings or bánh bao, and it was a long process. I ate them in Texas at my sisters house and they were so delicious! I love them, I want to make them again, this time maybe tweak the recipe a little. The ones I had in Texas were made of rice flour, and the ones I made had regular white baking flour for the dough. Next time I make bánh bao I would put less salt then what the recipe calls for and buy some banana leaves. People use banana leaves to form the dumplings into a pyramind shape and the dough may taste flavorful from the banana leaf. I have also been reading on another vietnamese cooking page and she uses aluminium foil on the outside to case the dumplings well. After I put the meat around a hard boiled egg and rolled out the dough, I wrapped the dough around the egg and meat. After forming 8 of them, which the recipe I followed made, I just plopped them all into a steamer and cooked them for 30 minutes about. I would make them again but change a few...

Fleas

I have dog fleas in my house and on my dog, I need to get rid of them ASAP! I ordered some essential oil flea spray with great reviews. I am going to get them all out of this house and off of our poor dog. He doesn't go outside that much. He stays inside a lot because he is a protector dog for us. I got rid of the mice problem we had now I can handle this, no big deal I can do it. I am going to rent a carpet cleaner and use vinegar and baking soda and see if it does a good job. I used google to research and I found maybe a good scrub in the tub for a dog will kill fleas. Then apple cider vinegar to rinse is supposed to balance the dogs pH and fleas don't survive in that. We will see what works. Someone could start telling me to soak some tomato juice on our dog on wikipedia, I can't believe everything I read on the internet. I will try a few things!

Coffee and cookies

I woke up in the morning and had a cookie and coffee and read about natural weed killer. I'm going to pick the weeds or spray them with an epsom salt combination. Here's the recipe-  1 gallon vinegar, 2 Cups Epsom salt, 1/4th Cup dawn dishwashing soap and spray it heavily first thing in the morning and the weeds will go away. Roundup is an herbicide that contains glyphosate which kills plants. There are other chemicals in it besides glyphosate that are damaging too. Monsanto introduced roundup in 1974 and it dominates the markets. That's not good because it is bad for our body and our wildlife. I don't mind some weeds, I think a little imperfection looks best. I don't want an immaculate yard in the suburbs. I want a yard with healthy squirrels, rabbits and birds and my baby and dog to breathe pure air and not step on chemicals. I grew herbs and flowers and I need to transplant them outside soon. I'm going to help build some raised garden beds too. Spring time is...

I was on my way to the Denver airport.

I was driving to the Denver airport this morning at 8:00 A.M, I had some coffee and chocolate and a mothers day gift for my mom. She had a 3 hour layover there since Denver is a big airport hub, and I wanted to visit her. Well plans changed because lo and behold my car overheated. I figured out quick that I shouldn't drive anymore because my car wouldn't go any faster then 60 mph on the interstate. Also It only blew out cold air when I tried the heater. So I let it cool off and after calling and getting a few other opinions, I decided that I needed to go back home. I started driving back only going 55-60 mph. It was a little entertaining, a Maserati zoomed past and a Mercedes sports edition. It looked like a race car game. (did you notice I don't leave the house too much) It overheated again when I was just 15 miles from our house so I pulled over again and waited for it to cool down. I started it up and made it the rest of the way home and was saying "thank you jesus,...
